New Native Inc has a 19 Year Safety Record
At New Native Inc. our primary concern is baby safety. After 19 years we are still using our original time tested design manufactured to the same high quality standards. Our design is a different shape than other slings which allows it to hold baby more securely. Even so, we recommend paying attention to what your baby is doing at all times.
We first became aware of the safety issue when a baby died in a competitor’s sling five years ago. At that time we created a warning to inform our customers how to keep their babies safe and secure while in our sling. We also participated in an independent study to clarify and confirm this information. We include these warnings and safety tips on our Instructional DVD which is included with every baby sling sold, as well as on our website. It is our goal to educate people about safe ways for using our slings. We have not received any reports of death or injury related to our baby sling to date, nor have we had a recall.
In answer to safety concerns, Mothering Magazine recently wrote a special report on “babywearing”. You can see this report at their website:

From the beginning of our business in 1992 we made our product to the highest standards. At New Native Inc we use 100% cotton which allows for airflow and breathability. We have tested our slings for strength and flammability even though up to this time there has been no requirement for baby sling manufacturers to do this.
Our product the New Native Baby Pouch is the gold standard from which all others were copied. Our quality and practical design earned the trust that allowed many other brands to become successful competitors. Even so copies are often not the same quality as New Native Baby Pouch.
We ask you to read the safety information on the opposite side of this page. The photo is of a baby in a safe position.
